Identify Your Energy Block

Energy Blocks can disrupt and damage the way we show up in life and work.  A block can be anything that restricts you, whether it is something external (money, time, or natural disasters) or internal (beliefs and attitudes that you have about the world around you).  Since the external often reflects the internal, it’s really those internal blocks that are the ones holding us back, 95 percent of the time.

So, what do these blocks look like?

Analyze Your Energy Level

Left unchecked, our Energy Blocks can keep us stuck in a catabolic state, unable to foster any positive energy or forward progress. Being in a catabolic state can sabotage our efforts to create a positive outcome for life events, such as transitioning out of the military. Instead of taking positive action, we spin our wheels, needlessly pontificate, and frustrate ourselves.

In an anabolic state, we are in “solution mode”. Instead of working from crisis mode, where we emotionally detach and focus on problems with feelings of fear, despair, or loss of control, we utilize emotional intelligence constructively to see opportunities both in front of us and in the future. When we inevitably encounter setbacks, we become intentional, considering different perspectives, possibilities, and what we can learn and do, instead of adopting a victim mentality.

Anabolic leaders have the ability to motivate not only themselves but other people, inspiring them to do extraordinary things.

So the question is: How do we raise ourselves from a catabolic state to an anabolic state? The first step is to become aware of the energy level we currently resonate at.

  • Instigator - Level 2

  • Cooperator - Level 3

  • Tender Lover - Level 4

  • Opportunist - Level 5

  • Regulator - Level 6

  • Your Best Self - Level 7

Make a Command Decision

Sometimes, we are resonating at a lower average Energy Level than we would like to be. It’s likely that we are experiencing the negative effects of being at a catabolic energy level - a trademark of Energy Levels 1 (The Victim) and Level 2 (The Instigator). Or, we are in an anabolic state (Energy Levels 3-7) but want to raise our average level to achieve more success in our life.

Now that we know what Energy Level we are at and are familiar with the Energy Blocks that might be hindering our progress, we have the choice to start resonating at a higher level. To do this, we must take action. This action takes the form of a Command Decision.
